Introduction.

TellME is an Android and iOS mobile application that allows any website to easily push information to user's mobile devices as a "Software as a Service."

Mobile consumption of information is now greater than non-mobile. Thousands of websites need to push information directly to a user's phone but currently this can only be done if the website's mobile app has been downloaded and installed.

TellME solves this problem by providing websites with a single app through which their content can be pushed to subscribing users.

The Problems with Apps

There are so many problems with standard mobile apps that TellME resolves:

  1. Users need to install an app for every site they connect to and their phone memory fills up fast.
  2. Creating an app is an expensive and time consuming process.
  3. Changing an app requires more money, time and approval from Google or Apple.
  4. Users cannot be forced to update their app, so you can't guarantee everyone sees the same thing.
  5. You not only have to create an app for the phones, but also create the back-end systems the apps communicate with. More cost and time.
  6. Google and/or Apple know who is running the app, and can see all of the information accessed with the app. (Lack of Privacy).

The Solutions are @pplets

TellME has the solutions:

  1. A single TellME app supports an infinite number of #channels and @pplets.
  2. A TellME @pplet or #channel can be created in minutes using supplied templates and at no cost.
  3. Changing your @pplet or #channel is done on your own server by your own web design team.
  4. Since the user doesn't need to update their @pplets, any changes to your @pplet or #channel affect every user instantly, so they all see the same thing.
  5. You can create simple HTML based back-end for your @pplet or if your website supports mobile users, you are already 95% done.
  6. Google and/or Apple only know who is running TellME, but they have no access to the #channels or @pplets that TellME users are accessing nor any of the data. In fact TellME doesn't even know what data is transferred between the user and the servers. (Super Strong Privacy - what TellME doesn't know it can't divulge or be hacked.)

@pplets and #channels.

TellME utilizes a #channel (like TV) architecture to anonymously send information (Broadcast) or an @pplet (like Telephone) architecture to connect to an account like a bank (Private).

TellME clients can create their own @pplets that function within the TellME framework like a normal mobile app.

Examples of TellME Uses

This section describes four @pplets built on TellME using various parts of the system functionality as examples of what can be easily created.

Product Registration/Communication

The retailer has a cleaning solution that they sell in 1 quart spray bottles. Each product line has a unique QR code on the bottle. The customer is invited to scan the QR code into TellME so that they can register the purchase and receive Loyalty Points or other benefits.

From the point of view of the retailer, they can use this communication channel to inform the customer at a certain point "Based on normal usage, you are about 3/4 of the way through your bottle. Click [HERE] to reorder." and a one-click reordering process can happen.

The retailer can also use this communication channel to inform the customers of other products that they have available, possibly with discounts or special offers.

All of this happens within the TellME @pplet/#channel without the retailer knowing any information about the customer, such as name, email address, phone number, and optionally, the customer's location.

Anonymous Group Interaction

The client has a cannabis related website and wants to allow interaction between the users without having any personally identifiable information about the users.

While Facebook allows group conversations, they know all about the user, and have no problem providing that information to the authorities.

TellME allows users to post questions and other users to answer them in a moderated environment but without any way to find out who posted what, and TellME cannot give any information to the authorities because it does not have it.

Any time a new question or answer is posted (and approved by the moderator), all members of the #cannabis_channel are instantly updated with the information, even though nobody knows who they are.

Subscription Based Urgent Information

The client has a subscription based information service providing "Up to the second stock tips" which need to be provided to the paid #channel subscribers instantly.

The client looks after all billing and database information for his clients, but does not need to share that information with TellME.

TellME just sends the information out as a priority message which overrides other regular messages as part of the premium service level this client pays for.

Personal Wager eSports Gaming

The Personal Wager website allows eSports players to schedule games against each other.

Rather than building a bespoke app, Personal Wager created an @pplet on TellME to notify the players when a game that fits their criteria has been offered and allows the players to confirm the play.

The Future of Shopping - A Shared Grocery Shopping List

Keeping a shopping list up to date is never an easy task. You forgot to add Milk to the list when you used the last of it. Your partner goes shopping and just as they drive away, you remember something for the list. When you get home, you realize you didn't get everything you need, but you threw away the list already.

Add into that the hassle of remembering which store has the product, has the best price, or even has any in stock.

The Future of Shopping (TFOS) @pplet solves all of those issues and more.

  • Real-time shopping list additions/edits. You add an item at home and your partner receives it in real time on their phone.
  • Add items by scanning the UPC barcode, entering the UPC code, or searching by product name (or even image).
  • System learns which store (and aisle) you bought something when you scan it to take it off the list using GPS.
  • Stores can compete for your business by giving you offers based on your items (Anonymously of course.)
  • System learns how long it takes you to use something and can suggest "You probably need kitty litter again. The last time you bought it was 3 weeks ago."
  • Users assist the system learning prices by entering the price they purchased an item at, and which store it they are in.
  • The system can notify the user when "Out of Stock" or "Backordered" items are available again (Automatically when another user purchases the item locally, or in cooperation with the store management.)
  • A user will appreciate the time savings aspect of dividing the shopping list when entering the Supermarket. Dad heads to meat aisle, Mom to the produce section and if the Kids come along, they can head to the chips and frozen pizza aisle.
  • Crowd acquired data is gamified. Every item you add earns you points. Every price you enter earns you points. Points can be redeemed for merchandise. Highest scoring users are on the leaderboards.
  • Inform the user where a product is manufactured and ingredients, and suggest better products.
  • User can specify Organic, Non-GMO, Vegetarian, Gluten Free, Vegan, Halal, Kosher and Allergy filters, and be warned when the system thinks there is a conflict.
  • Users can create one-off lists for events like Thanksgiving, Christmas, etc, and can add items to the list all through the year.
  • Users can ask the system to tell them when items are expiring (Produce, etc) and should be used.
  • If something on your list is flagged as "Hard to find", other users in your area are automatically asked if they know where to find it.
  • If there is an item on your shopping list offered by a farmers' market or other similar direct-to-consumer group, you will be informed.

  • TellME may send you emergency messages - Earthquakes, Tsunamis, Tornadoes, etc. You can unsubscribe, but probably don't want to either.
  • TellME makes its money from service fees paid by @pplet developers and #channel creators. It may also make money by showing you advertisements (You can turn this off easily too). It may also make money from affiliate programs. TellME will never ask users for money.
